Penelope
ADOPTION PENDING
Adoption Fee: $200
Penelope is a gorgeous 15.2 hand sorrel filly just a small star. She had been adopted out, but due to economic factors, must be placed with a new home. Will be very tall & is all legs. She has great muscle & bone structure. She is very quiet & sensible for her age & breeding, though she can be stubborn! She stands great for grooming, farrier, bathing, etc. Gets along well w/ everyone and is a pleasure to work with. Even though she is only 2, she has a "been there, done that" kind of personality. She has been in a home with small children and has excellent ground manners. Will make a great mount that will be easily trained (excellent hunter/jumper, eventing or dressage horse when grown). Penelope is willing, as well as sweet, smart and attentive.
6/30/09- Penny is looking great and feeling just as fine! She gets along well with the other horses and tends to be the lower end of the herd structure. She has learned the trailer is not a scary death trap and is more willing to load and back off. She has also been learning to give to pressure and beginning her ground training to learn to lunge on a line. This filly is extremely smart and just needs a firm but kind hand to show her the way!
8/15/09- Penelope is coming along nicely! She has started her lunge training at the beginning of this month and is going nice in a surcingle both directions. She has leaned that bath time feels good in this 100+ degree Kentucky weather. Below are pics taken at liberty on a very hot Saturday afternoon.

10/24/09- Penelope is doing fantastic and is still growing both physically and mentally. Her training is progressing in a surcingle and caveson. This filly has a long flowing stride and legs that are clean, clean, clean! For the most part she is attentive and easy going. She sometimes looses focus and needs a guiding and patient hand in her training. She tends to get more concerned about where her friends are than what we are trying to teach her. Frequent stops and changes in her sessions allows us to hold her attention.
Though our round pen is under major construction, we are still continuing Penelope's ground training. Here are a few clips of her being worked. First in the soggy paddock after 2 weeks rain, but it was too slick for serious work in there. http://s106.photobucket.com/albums/m274/iluv2ride/?action=view¤t=Picture010.flv
Last two in the extremely uneven, but not slippery front barn lot. Not the greatest of conditions, but she did great! It was good experience for her to change the "norm" as well.
