2. MVR Sponsorship Program

We have implemented a new Sponsorship Program for the rescue, to help offset the rising costs of our adoption and sanctuary programs. In Kentucky the cost of hay has increased by 50-150% in the past years because the 2007 & 2008 drought and subsequent hay shortage. In addition to the droughts, Kentucky has faced several severe storms that have damaged homes, barns, and crops. In the past 6 short months, mother nature has twice demonstrated her remarkable power, with the September 2008 wind storm and the January 2009 ice storm. It was, as Governor Beshear said, "the biggest natural disaster that this state has ever experienced in modern history" and these historic storms have tested us in many ways. By sponsoring a horse of your choice, you help to ensure our programs will grow and continue.

4. Don't Breed...Adopt Your Steed!

Last but certainly not least, we have some GREAT horses available for adoption. In order to be able to serve horses truly in need, we need to make room at our farm by placing the horses who are fully rehabilitated. MVR is a no-kill rescue, but we can only house 12 horses at any given time. Please take a look at the deserving horses we have available and pass it on to your friends!

It has taken many years of hard work and many sleepless nights to get to where we are today. I want to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone who has contributed to our success. So many of you have touched this organization and the lives of its horses in so many ways. We could not have done it without you. As the first day of spring ushers in a new renewal of the land, we hope to see a renewed spirit of hope for our horses.

Warm spring wishes from our farm to yours,
