Jamboree

Adoption Fee: $500

Thank you Nancy Johns for Jammy's continued Sponsorship

8/7/10- Jammy is now part of the front pasture herd and loving it! She is muzzled during the day and stalled at night to prevent her overeating. She is such a fun ride and is very in tune and responsive to her rider. She is broke to a bosal bridle and is very respectful, kind and honest. What a good girl!

7/13/10- Jammy is home today and is now bunking with Little John in the paddock. We are trail riding Saturday and look forward to Jammy's debut here on our trails!

6/18/10- We took a visit to the trainers place today to see our Jammy. She is coming along nicely! She stands quietly for mounting, does trail with no spookiness walk/ trot. These last couple of weeks they will be working on canter. She is ridden in a bosal and will not need to be bitted. What a gorgeous girl with such a way of going and an eagerness to please! We can't wait to get her home and hit the trail!

6/1/10- Jammy went to the trainers this afternoon and he fell in love with her right away. We are really excited about her training and will keep everyone posted!

5/14/10- Jammy will be going o to the trainer's place within the next 2 weeks. She is already getting fat from this spring grass, we have muzzled her during the and we are hoping she will slim down a bit with the extra work! Jammy has really blossomed into a curious, friendly and attentive little mare. She gets along well with everyone, is easy to keep, and is just gorgeous! This mare can go on to do great things with the right rider. We couldn't be more pleased with our little Jamboree.

4/28/10- Jammy had her teeth done today and we are happy to report there are no problems with her previously infected tooth root. It has healed perfectly! Jammy will be going locally for professional training in the next month or so. We look forward to seeing her progress. She is a wonderful little horse and we couldn't be more pleased with our girl!

3/6/10- Jammy and Emanuel took their first ride in the big pasture today and both did terrific! Jamboree was very quiet and relaxed and responded very well to her new bosal hackamore bridle. We worked on walk/trot, but more is to come! Please click the button below to view the pics of their ride.

Jammy Ride 3/6/10

1/10/10- Jamboree is really blossoming into a great little filly! She has come out of her shell not only with people, but with her herd mates as well. She is the tiniest horse we have here at the rescue, but you would not know that from her heart! This filly will make someone patient and kind a truly special partner.

11/28/09- Jammy was backed today! She did super well and seems to love her work! She was very quiet and trusting and did not have a bit anxiety or issue with her rider. Go Jammy! We are so proud of you:)

11/21/09- Jammy was worked for the first time today with her young Amish boy who will assisting in her saddle training. The pair did great together and we are hoping next week to back her!

10/24/09- Jammy is coming along nicely and we are finally seeing this little filly blossom! She now stands proudly on her crossties, even when 3 people are grooming on her! She has been learning to allow a rider to lay across her back and is well on her way to that first ride. We are finding no swelling or lameness in her ankle. The tooth seems to be just fine as well.

8-15-09- Jammy is doing wonderfully on her ground training and is going nicely in a bitting rig. This week we will start backing her with a light rider. We have seen no lameness since her injections and she continues to move nicely on that ankle despite regular work. She is getting more appreciative of her baths now that its miserably hot!

June 09- Jammy has went through an entire round of Adequan and is ready to resume training. Her tooth procedure has worked beautifully, and we are seeing that hole close up now. She is ready for her forever home and is coming around nicely. She is much more brave now, and much more trusting & outgoing towards her handlers and strangers alike. While she will always be a spirited girl, she is much easier to work with and is willing to bond. She likes to work, and she will need a steady routine to stay on track. Currently we are learning the hose is a good thing, not a monster!

5/20/09- We made it to the vet last weekend for x rays. Jammy did wonderfully and trailered and acted like a champ through the whole process. I am SO proud of her! What we found is that she has an infected tooth root in her bottom jaw, requiring us to stick a tube of medicine through a hole in her jaw into the tooth root 2x per day to flush. She will be having an experimental procedure next week in which the vet will be filling the hole with a gel that sets up like an epoxy. Hopefully this will work, as our only other alternative would be to remove a section of the jaw bone and punch the tooth out from the bottom up through the top. Poor Jamboree! We also x-rayed her rear far fetlock and have started her on Adequan for 4 weeks. This is an old fracture with calcification, and we are hoping to see improvement after the series of injections. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers though her healing process!

4/29/09- Jammy is doing great and is learning the ropes quite well. We have learned to ground tie, as well as long line! Sometimes we are finding her coming up soar on that hind that was previously injured. We are planning on x-rays being taken before any saddle or cart training begins.

3/27/09- Jammy is coming along so well! We have weaned her off her calming supplements, she is really starting to settle and adapt to her routine. She is MUCH more quiet and trusting with everyone now, strangers and friends alike. We have started working her on a line with no round pen, and she is dong wonderfully! She is a great little filly and is about to begin her long line training.

1/28/09- Snow pics!

1/19/09- Jamboree was introduced to the herd over the weekend. Everyone was very well behaved and seemed to enjoy each other's company. Jammy is progressing rather well and is now offered for adoption to experienced riders who have training experience, or someone willing to work w/ a reputable professional trainer. This filly has gorgeous animation, with very lofty gaits. Being that she is flighty & has trust issues we are working though, she will need an experienced and patient adopter. With the right home this filly could excel at any discipline.

12/16/08- Jammy was brought to our rescue to finish her training and is settling in well. Her far hind ankle will always remain larger than her near. We have not seen any swelling or lameness.

11/23/08- Slideshow of Jamboree in the round pen. Great moving & gorgeous little filly!

INTAKE- 11/08- Approximately 3 year old Morab (morgan/arabian) filly, has some ground training. She has an old rear ankle injury that occurred when she was "accidentally" mounted by a stallion as a yearling. She is not affected by the injury and will be rideable. She is currently in training to overcome her fear and trust issues. Will make a great little filly once trained. She is not at our rescue, but at a facility close to us who is fostering. She will be placed under our contract.
