Nessy
In Rehabilitation
6/15/11- Nessy's blood work came back indicating a heavy parasite load, as well as bacterial infection. We have been treating her with low dosage wormer, as well as antibiotic. Her shaggy worm coat is almost shed making her skin infections easier to treat. Also showing just how skinny she really is. Nessy only weighs 750 and is at least 200 pounds underweight. Her appetite is not the best and she hasn't gained weight thus far. The dentist will be coming this week to work on her teeth. Donations are needed to help offset the rising cost of vet care for Nessy's rehabilitation.

Intake- 5/25/11 We were alerted about this mare by a local padded walking horse trainer who took her in on trade because he felt sorry for her. Obviously he didn't need her, but knew about us and contacted us to help. Nessy's registered name is Nonproductive Asset, and even though her bloodlines are full of world grand champion horses, this did not save her from falling into the wrong hands and becoming unwanted and neglected. She is a sorrel TWH mare 9 years old, we were told broke to ride. She has heavy keg shoes on 3 hooves which will be pulled immediately. She is emaciated, has fungal issues, and a cloudy eye on the near side in which she does have some vision. Nessy loaded like a dream and is very sweet and laid back. Her legs look clean and she is not lame. She will see the vet for coggins and blood panels and get a good bath ASAP! She will remain in quarantine for the next few weeks. We will keep everyone posted on her progress. Nessy will need sponsors to help offset the cost of her rehabilitation. All donations are tax deductible.
